Book Blogger Test Tag

Happy Tuesday! I’ve been a tad busy, so I decided to do a short and sweet post today – The Book Blogger Test tag! I was tagged by the amazing Ainslee at Jest and Hearts!

1) Thank the person who nominated you and add a link to their blog.
2) Answer the questions asked on this post — don’t stress it’s quick!
3) Nominate and notify some peeps. 5 preferred.

1. What are your top 3 bookish pet peeves?

Dog. Earred. Pages.

When books of the same series are different heights – WHY?!

Hardback book covers – I hate how the covers come off, it makes me nutty.

2. Name a perfect reading spot:

A perfect reading spot… is anywhere that is quiet, full of comfortable chairs and pillows, with soft instrumental music playing in the background.

3. Give 3 reading confessions:
Sometimes I “accidentally” skip a few sentences and read ahead when I get to an exciting part of a book (I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!)

Sometimes I reread really emotional parts of a book several times in a row. There is something just so deliciously torturous about rereading emotional scenes, I can’t help but dwell and let myself feel with the main character – in a way it deepens my connection to the story.

I always try to read through a full chapter before stopping – I can’t stand stopping in the middle of a chapter. It sort of ruins the flow of the story for me. The only downfall is if the end of the chapter ends in a cliffhanger, then I can end up in the “just one more chapter” loop.

  1. When was the last time you cried during a book?
A few nights ago while I was rereading Tiger’s Quest by Colleen Houck. Each book of the series is an emotional rollercoaster, and I can’t resist crying during certain parts, no matter how many times I read it.

  2. Number of books on your bedside table?
This changes pretty often. I just rearranged my bookshelf and put my books away, but before that I had 3 books on my bedside table, and 9 on the floor underneath it.

    6. Favorite reading snack?
I actually dislike snacking while reading because I don’t want crumbs or stains on my books. However I do like to have a cup of tea or water near me. Typically it’s chamomile or peppermint tea (my current obsession is buttermint tea).

    7. What are 3 books you’d recommend to anyone?

It’s difficult to say because every person can like different kinds of books but I think some universally appealing books would be:

Howl’s Moving Castle

Harry Potter

The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia)

8. Provide a picture of your bookshelf:

9. How much do books mean to you in 3 words?

A delightful journey.

10. Biggest reading secret?

I’d rather read an old favorite than risk being disappointed by a new book…so I end up rereading books more than I probably should.

I Tag:

Anyone who wants to do this tag! If you do, or already have, leave a link in the comments below, I’d love to read y’all’s answers!

Good Hunting!!
